As well as our voting academy, we are also gave all gastropubs the chance to enter themselves and be recognised within this exclusive community. There are three special awards which are open for entry by gastropubs themselves. Entries are now closed for the 2012 awards
Entering the awards is a fantastic way to drive excellent PR for your pub¹s business and give your hard-working team a boost.
The three exciting awards are:
Newcomer of the Year: This award recognises gastropubs that have been open for 18 months. The judging panel will be looking for details of investment made to the pub, details of the best food promotions and events, marketing and PR initiatives and plans to develop the business. Business Innovation: This award recognises gastropubs which has shown strong business innovation in the past year such as launching an outside catering business, range of take-away dishes, cinema room, smoke house, cookery demonstrations etc. Judges will be looking at how a specific initiative has helped boost trade at the pub and other business benefits it has created. Front of House Manager: This award recognises top gastropub managers who make a vital contribution to the success of the pub¹s business and help deliver excellent service at their pub. Click here to view the entry form
Entrants submit paper entries, which are judged down to a final three by a panel of industry experts including Good Food Guide editor Elizabeth Carter and David Hancock, editor of the Alastair Sawday¹s Pubs & Inns Guide.
The awards also include Gastropub Chef of the Year and Highest Climber. The winner of the Gastropub Chef of the Year is selected from all the head chefs working at the Top 50 Gastropub by a panel of industry experts. The Highest Climber award recognise the pub that has moved most significantly up the top 50 list in the past year.
