Entry Process
The entry deadline is now closed
As well as our voting academy, we also give all gastropubs the chance to enter themselves and be recognised within this exclusive community. There are three special awards which can be entered by the gastropubs themselves.
The three exciting awards are:
Business Innovation: Enter this award if you run a business that deserves recognition for launching a strong business innovation in the past year, such as a food festival, pop-up restaurant, cafe, own label food range, school meals catering etc. The innovation will have provided a significant boost to trade.
Front of House Manager: If you are a manager who makes a vital contribution to the success of your pub's business and helps deliver excellent service then enter this category.
Newcomer of the Year: This award recognises new entrants to the market, open to pubs that have been open for 18 months or less. The judging panel will look for details of investment in the business, successful food and drink promotions and events, marketing and PR ideas and future development plans.
Entrants submit paper entries, which are judged down to a final three by a panel of industry experts including Good Food Guide editor Elizabeth Carter and David Hancock, editor of the Alastair Sawday¹s Pubs & Inns Guide.
The awards also include Gastropub Chef of the Year and Highest Climber and Highest New Entry. The winner of the Gastropub Chef of the Year is selected from all the head chefs working at the Top 50 Gastropub by a panel of industry experts. The Highest Climber award recognise the pub that has moved most significantly up the top 50 list in the past year and The Highest New Entry Award is presented to the pub that has entered the Top 50 list in the highest position.
